Create your Tribute Fund here
An Everlasting Memories Tribute Fund is a very special way of celebrating the life of someone you have lost. It allows you, your family and friends the opportunity to come together to remember your loved one, the life they lived and the impact they made in a very personal and positive way.

As your own special tribute, this online page can become a place of comfort to visit at any time in order to help you remember and reflect. You can do many things including posting stories, favourite pictures or lighting a candle.

Donating to your Fund

It can be extremely rewarding to see a Tribute Fund grow and you can contribute to your Fund in whichever way you choose. You may choose to make a regular monthly gift, which will ensure your Fund grows into something really substantial. Some people like to mark special occasions by making a donation on birthdays, anniversaries or other important dates. You could organise or take part in fundraising events in memory of your loved one. From holding coffee mornings to running a marathon, there are many ways to add to your Fund.

Every gift acts as a tribute to your loved one and supports our work at the same time - a special way to let their legacy live on through helping other people facing incurable illnesses.

Jeff's Story

Jeff Barker, along with Daughter, Hattie and Son, Tom set up the Emma Barker Tribute Fund in loving memory of their wife and mum, who died at Kirkwood Hospice in 2013 aged 43.

"My wife was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2011. We had amazing care throughout the two years that Emma fought her disease at several hospitals. Kirkwood Hospice, however, is a particularly special place. A place where no one, from doctors and nurses to volunteers and the catering team, ever forgets for a second why they are at work that day - to care for people coming towards the end of their lives and to ensure that their remaining days are as comfortable, peaceful and dignified as they can possibly be.

Emma was a stunning young woman who always turned heads when she walked into a room. She made me laugh every day that I knew her. She gave me two beautiful, beautiful children and enough happy memories to last me a lifetime. During her short time at Kirkwood, in a different way, I fell in love with my wife all over again. I will be eternally grateful to all of the angels at Kirkwood Hospice for creating an environment for that to happen."

How your Fund helps

Your Fund will help our specialist nurses, doctors, therapists, social workers and bereavement experts to provide care and support for people throughout Kirklees affected by incurable illnesses. We need £15,000 every day to provide our services - completely free of charge. As a registered charity, we rely heavily on the financial support of the community. Less than 15% of our income comes from the Government. The rest, which equates to over £4million a year, has to be raised through voluntary donations.

Newsletters
We produce two Kirkwood Hospice newsletters every year. Our newsletters aim to bring you information on new developments taking place at the Hospice, stories of patients who use our services and the staff who care for them, plus information on forthcoming fundraising events and how you can get involved.

Copies of our latest newsletter, as well as back issues, are available to download or view online here. Alternatively, if you would like to receive a copy of future newsletters through the post, please ring: 01484 557 911 or e-mail: fundraising@kirkwoodhospice.co.uk
